I only use the microfiber cloth for streaks left from cleaning up smudges or food on my refrig. I use a soft cloth sprayed with stainless cleaner for overall cleaning of appliances. I use Streak Free cloths for everything else: dusting, mirrors, windows. Some stainless is harder to clean than others.

These really are magic. I cut and used one small (about 5″x5″) piece and now I have the cleanest tablets, TVs, phone, windows and mirrors I’ve ever had. Then I found many other uses, including fingerprints on doors and walls, my non-stainless appliances, faucets and spigots, my digital clocks, and windowsills. I just carried it around and cleaned any little thing that needed it. I cleaned everything with just a little water. Then I put a little dishwashing liquid on it to wash it out, and, yes it did show a lot of dirt still, but I pressed it between paper towels and no dirt transferred. Later in the day I picked it up again and it worked just as well. I think these 3 big cloths will last me several years, at least, and my bottle of Windex will last much much longer than that!

I had been using a chemical-based glass cleaning product for years, but often I’d still have streaks after I finished cleaning. Comparatively, the StreakFree really does give my windows a smear-free finish. Plus, I really like the idea that it’s totally natural and therefore safer for us and my baby. What’s really awesome is that it’s reusable so it can save you money in the long run. And you don’t have to use paper towels, so it’s great for the environment.

Streak Free Microfiber Cloths holds 7 times its weight in dirt, grime and liquid. Each fiber is 200 times finer than a human hair! (this is the secret of micro fiber’s incredible cleaning ability). Open spaces between fibers hold dust, dirt, and oil until washed away with mild soap or detergent. Spaces also allow large amounts of moisture to be collected into the cloths making them very absorbent. These same spaces allow for quicker drying time eliminating much of the bacterial growth found in slow drying cloths. Source: https://streakfreexl.com/.

Vacuum again after you clean and the carpet is completely dry to pick up soil that wicks to the surface during drying.

Get rid of residue from hair spray, dry shampoo or any other hair products by mixing washing up liquid and warm water and giving it a dip. Do you have a 100% Guarantee on Pet Odors? Unfortunately there is no way to completely guarantee 100% odor removal of any type. The reason is that the odor may not only be in the carpet but it could also be under the padding, on the cement or wood beneath the carpet. It may also be on the baseboards, drapes, walls, etc. Furthermore, one cleaning may not be sufficient to take care of a severe urine odor. In certain cases the carpet may have to be replaced and the subfloor treated and sealed. ***Pet odor that originates or extends BELOW the carpet backing (into the pad and/or subfloor) is not remediable with simple cleaning or topical (surface only) application of deodorizers. Remediation of deep contamination from urine is expensive and advisable only when the area involved is limited to a few square feet***

Tree pruning tips? Small insects and fauna: Tiny insects and animals are one of the biggest threats to tree health and foliage. The tree in your backyard may seem like it’s perfectly healthy at first glance, but only a careful look can tell whether it has been infested by pests like beetles or carpenter ants. Over time, these small insects can burrow into the trees, build their nests and lay eggs, effectively weakening it from the roots. This can pose a major threat to your home if the tree becomes unhealthy enough to fall. See this document from the U.S. Forest Service on the 70 most common insects and 27 most common diseases that threaten trees in North America.

To direct the growth by slowing the branches you don’t want, or to “dwarf” the development of a tree or branch, pruning should be done soon after seasonal growth is complete. Another reason to prune in the summer is for corrective purposes. Defective limbs can be seen more easily. For trees that bloom in spring, prune when their flowers fade. Trees and shrubs that flower in mid- to late summer should be pruned in winter or early spring. Because decay fungi spread their spores profusely in the fall and wounds seem to heal more slowly on fall on cuts, this is a good time to leave your pruning tools in storage.

Tree owners often need to move or transplant trees from a nursery or within the yard. Yard trees may have been planted too thickly or threaten to outgrow available space. Size is a critical factor in transplanting. The larger a tree, the more difficult it is to transplant. Before starting a mulching project, become familiar the critical root zone (CRZ) or tree protection zone. This zone is generally defined as the area under a tree and out to its dripline. Improving conditions in this protection zone will also result in major health benefits to a tree. On the other hand, there are also a few species that are not recommended to be planted in Colorado, for various reasons: their susceptibility to diseases, their tendency to spread and out-compete native species etc. We are talking about Silver maple, Russian-olive or White-Barked Birches, among others. Before planting any trees in your yard, call professional Colorado utility locate technicians to ensure buried cables are undisturbed and functional throughout your landscaping project.

Things to consider include: The tree’s purpose. Are you planting it for aesthetics, privacy, shade/energy reduction, windbreak, or as a street tree? Your end goal will determine the suitability of different trees. Planting site limitations. What is your hardiness zone? What is the maximum height and spread for a tree in the space? What are the sun exposure and soil conditions? This information is available for more than 200 trees and woody shrubs in our Tree Guide.

Some common tree pests found in late spring and summer include borers, mites, scales, and beetles. They can cause wilting, canopy thinning, premature leaf drop, and branch dieback. Many of these insects feed on various types of deciduous and evergreen species. Treatments – including the release of beneficial insects – can suppress the impact of damaging pests. Examples of natural predators to these pests include lady beetles, green lacewings, trichogramma wasps, and predaceous mites.

Looking for the best options if you need to cut down the tree maintenance costs? Start with picking the right trees for Colorado! Nancy is a big fan of American Hornbeams, in part because of the striking patterns on their bark. The beautifully textured bark is sinewy, like well-developed muscles on an athlete. No surprise that the tree is also known as a “Musclewood!” Another remarkable feature of this Hornbeam is the pagoda-shaped fruit it produces in the fall. Fall leaf color is a mottled yellow and red. The fruit and the bark give this tree an especially elegant appearance in a winter landscape. American Hornbeams grow 25 to 30 feet tall and wide. They have a moderate growth rate. This Hornbeam should be watered normally for the first three years. They are somewhat drought tolerant once established.

King Rammus was a gift given to players who participated in the closed beta test of League of Legends a million years ago. Essentially, it morphs Rammus into… well, let’s just call it like it is: It makes Rammus look like Bowser. It’s hard to imagine Riot toeing the copyright line quite as blatantly today, now that they’re a mega-corporation with offices all over the world. Sadly, for such a rare skin, King Rammus is a bit of a disappointment by today’s standards. It’s mostly just a recolored version of the original skin and doesn’t come with any modified abilities or particle effects. Still, its limited availability means anyone rocking it is sure to turn a few heads.

Volibear’s not as fast as Shyvana, but he is good at surviving the jungle. His passive, Chosen of the Storm, lets him gain health every so often if he falls below a certain threshold, and can also be used in teamfights. His ganks are reasonably strong, and he can be built either offensively or defensively, depending on what your team requires. Volibear’s Q is the most useful bit of his kit. It can get him out of trouble, but it can also single out enemies very effectively in a teamfight or skirmish. Closing down a squishy target and flinging them backwards into the rest of your team is very useful for picking off important enemy players and giving your team a numbers advantage. It’s important to remember that, while Frenzy has a passive element, its active can only be used once Volibear has completed three basic attacks. That doesn’t take very long, but don’t expect to be able to use it straight away. It’s also on a long cooldown, so make sure you use its execute mechanic at the wrong time. The big boom for snow globes came, as it did for so many other things in the 20th century, after a little product placement. In the 1940 Ginger Rogers vehicle Kitty Foyle, young Kitty launches a flashback scene when she shakes a snow globe containing the figure of a girl on a sled. According to Connie Moore and Harry Rinker in Snow Globes: A Collector’s Guide to Selecting, Displaying and Restoring Snow Globes, sales of the keepsakes skyrocketed 200 percent after the film came out. The next year, Orson Welles’s Citizen Kane also used a snow globe—containing a little log cabin and made by Perzy’s company—for that monumental opening scene: When publishing titan Charles Kane dies with the word “Rosebud” on his lips, and the snow globe he’s holding drops from his hand and shatters. The 1940s also witnessed the dawning of a new era in advertising ubiquity, and brands began making snow globes to advertise their products. Other popular themes included World War II iconography, such as a soldier at attention.

Following in the style of Walter Martin and Paloma Munoz’s realistic and detailed snow globe creations, the Danish architectural firm Ja-Ja made a special series of snow globes to celebrate Christmas. These creations show what the “Nisse” (a small Scandinavian mythological creature that helps around the house) are up to in modern times. This particular globe shows a Nisse working away on a rooftop garden just out of sight of us silly humans. Additional information on custom snowglobes.

The first mention of a snow globe featured a man with an umbrella displayed at the Paris Exposition of 1878. Eleven years later at the 1889 Exposition, visitors came to marvel at the steel structure of the Eiffel Tower. There are no examples remaining of these first souvenir globes – but others introduced later suggest that domes were created to commemorate the inauguration of the Tower. The concept quickly became popular throughout Victorian Europe featuring religious themes and pilgrimage sites. “Snow domes are not only fascinating to look at, to hold, to play with, they are folk art”, says collector Nancy McMichael, author of Snowdomes(Abbeville Press). “They are a bridge back to an idealized past we think existed but is actually in our head. It is something we carry with us.”

In case you forgot, gingerbread houses are linked to the Hansel and Gretel story. The most mentioned explanation for gingerbread houses stems from the fable created by the Brothers Grimm in which two little kids encounter an evil witch whose house is made out of bread and frosting. Engelbert Humperdinck’s play version of “Hansel and Gretel” premiered in Germany on December 23, 1893, which could explain why the story — and gingerbread houses — are associated with Christmas.
