A travel merchant account provides the travel business sector with the capability to get payments on goods and services offered to clients through a high risk merchant account for travel industry and travel agents.

Merchant providers see travel services payment processing and airline merchant accountsas a high risk sectors. This is due to the number of chargebacks and fraud historically issued within the industry. On average the time between booking a holiday or flight to actually attending is 90 days – leaving a large window for the chargeback to take place. According to the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) 47% of people travelled abroad during 2018, and all of these also holidayed within the UK too. The prediction by ABTA is that this will increase again during 2019 so, therefore, will the need for travel agent merchant services.

Most travel agencies ask the same question: “Why is Travel called high risk?” and “Why my application is denied?”. The answer is very simple. Travel is a very dynamic business. In many cases a travel agent takes payment as a third-party. A travel agent may charge a customer for a hotel stay, vacation package, cruise, airline ticket and so forth. Any change in such tickets, that is sometimes uncontrollable by the merchant, is making the merchant liable for a chargeback.

Regardless of the payment method you choose, securing a merchant account as a travel agent means locating a credit card processor that can explicitly support your business type and give you travel agency credit card processing. It won’t do you any good to fudge the details to try to get an account with a processor that doesn’t support travel businesses. At some point, the processor will catch on and shut down your account. Save yourself the headaches and choose a travel-friendly merchant processor from the start.

Sarlat, France is a fabulous historical travel destination. What can you see in Sarlat and Dordogne area? On the north bank of the Dordogne and a few minutes downstream from Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, is this 12th-century castle built by the Barons of Beynac. Just one look at it and you’ll understand why attackers might have been put off: It’s on a vertical limestone crag, and even now visitors have a hard time getting up there! If you make it you’ll have the pleasure of a 30-minute guided tour which brings the austere romanesque keep to life. The residences added to this monolithic structure include apartments from the 1600s, with carved woodwork and a painted ceiling still intact. See also the Salle des Etats with its renaissance fireplace and the adjoining oratory with walls entirely decorated with frescoes from the 1400s.

Another market well worth a visit is the indoor market at Eglise Sainte-Marie. Enter through the gigantic steel doors, and you’ll see stalls piled high with everything from spicy saucisson to local St-Nectaire cheese. Don’t forget to look out for the church’s main attraction; a glass lift that rises up through bell tower to reveal breathtaking views over the rooftops of Sarlat and beyond.

La Roque-Gageac: Part of the Dordogne’s spell is its drop-dead gorgeous villages, as this waterfront huddle of medieval stone on the Dordogne River testifies. The sheer golden cliffs sheltering a 12th-century troglodyte fort are awe-inspiring. Down on the river, traditional gabarres (barges), used to transport barrels of wine and salt downstream in the 19th century, plough the water. Hop aboard! Or gorge on bird’s eye views of the village and its grey, lauze-tiled rooftops from a hot-air balloon; Montgolfiere du Perigord (montgolfiere-du-perigord.com), a mile up the road, arranges flights.

Looking for hotels in Sarlat? BonVoyage’s platform is multi-lingual. It offers unique content about each booking destination in six languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch and Russian, with more languages planned in the near future. But the platform is also device-agnostic, as it adjusts – on the fly – to any device size and speed of connection. The biggest competitive advantage to BonVoyage, however, is what’s “under the hood” and cannot be seen by the end user: the company’s proprietary content production and syndication platform that leverages artificial intelligence to build, at scale, travel content as well as hotel and car rental booking assets. Los Angeles is an incredible city, so much movie stars power, a must see for any travel fan. It might seem morbid for a cemetery to feature in a list of must-visit sights, but the Hollywood Forever Cemetery is undoubtedly one of LA’s top attractions. This cemetery is known for its famous permanent residents, including director Cecil B DeMille, actress Judy Garland, and The Beatles’ George Harrison. Johnny Ramone of The Ramones was cremated after his death in 2004, but a bronze statue stands as a memorial to the musician in this cemetery. The burial ground comes into its own in the summer when Hollywood Forever regularly hosts concerts, film screenings and other events for the living to enjoy. Designers Charles and Ray Eames – the husband-and-wife duo who gave us the Eames chair – built the Eames House in 1949 as part of the Case Study House Program. The couple lived in this home (also known as Case Study House No 8) until their deaths in 1978 and 1988, respectively. Since 2004, the Eames Foundation has managed this landmark of mid-20th-century modern architecture. Visitors can see the home’s striking exterior for $10 (reservations required 48 hours in advance) from 10am to 4pm daily, with the exception of Wednesdays and Sundays. Interior tours are $275 for up to two people.

One of Los Angeles’ newest cultural attractions, The Broad opened in late 2015 and was immediately an overwhelming success. Tickets are free of charge but are generally booked out a month in advance, and lineups for standby tickets, which are first-come, first-served on the day of admission, can be hours long, particularly on weekends. The museum focuses on contemporary and postwar art, with some large and dramatic installations. More than 2,000 works of art are on display in this unique building, with a “veil-and-vault” concept. The museum was founded by Eli and Edythe Broad, who have been long time collectors of postwar and contemporary art. The Los Angeles Farmers Market first started in 1934 as a very modest affair that sprung from the hardships created by the Great Depression. At the height of the economic depression, eighteen farmers came together and set up stalls on a piece of open land near Wilshire Boulevard in order to sell their produce direct to the consumer. This experiment was so successful that the market continued to expand. At that time, it truly was a fruit and vegetable market, but over the years the market has grown to accommodate more and more vendors. Today, there are all kinds of fruit, vegetable, and other food stands, along with restaurants and specialty shops. You can find everything from jewelry and candles to kitchenware and toys. Let’s be real—many people who travel to Southern California come primarily for Disneyland, “The happiest place on Earth.” Walt Disney’s inaugural theme park is more than 60 years old now, but its magic and excitement always feel brand-new. In 2001, an army of Imagineers added a second park to the resort, California Adventure, extending the fun with 30-plus more rides and attractions. At both of these Los Angeles attractions, Disney fans of all ages meet beloved characters, smile and scream aboard rides, cheer on parades, and get exhilarated by fireworks. Through it all, enchanting fantasy experiences make you feel like you’re right in your favorite Disney or Pixar movie. The theme parks—both prime Los Angeles tourist attractions—are surrounded by the lively Downtown Disney shopping district and many fantastic hotels.

The idea of memorializing celebrities with stars embedded into sidewalks was conceived in the 1950s as a way to keep the glamour of Hollywood alive. More than 2,500 stars have been added since the first permanent installation at the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Gower Street in 1960. Operated by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the program has been a huge success. Each year, around ten million visitors stroll along the mile-long stretch of sidewalk in search of their favorite actor, singer, musician, director or television personality. Closely associated and right in front of part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is the famous Chinese Theatre, which has seen some of Hollywood’s most glamorous movies stars and premieres.

Malaysia is an incredible country, so much colour, a must see for any travel fan. Tioman is a small island located off the east coast of peninsular Malaysia. In the 1970s, Time Magazine selected Tioman as one of the world’s most beautiful islands. Tourists have surged to the island ever since, seeking a taste of paradises. The island is surrounded by numerous white coral reefs, making it a haven for scuba divers while the interior is densely forested. Visitors outnumber villagers outside the monsoon (November to February), but Tioman can be virtually deserted at other times.

Declared the tallest buildings in the world when they were completed in 1998 – surpassing the 442-metre-tall Willis Tower in Chicago, U.S.A – these twin wonders, located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, contain a complex of office buildings, conference halls, a sprawling 50-acre park and an upmarket shopping complex. Designed by Cesar Pelli & Associates, the buildings primarily house the corporate headquarters of the PETRONAS Company and are joined at the 41st and 42nd floors (175 metres above street level) by a 58-metre long double-decker Sky Bridge.

Officially called the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, this stunning example of 19th century Chinese architecture stands out for its distinctive blue walls and elaborate grandeur. Malacca is one of the best states to visit for heritage sites and antique stores, and is immensely popular with history lovers and artists. By day it is a town-sized museum, filled with relics from Dutch settlers and Malaysia’s unique Baba Nyonya Peranakan culture; by night it turns into a giant night market, lining the length of Jonker Street.

Panama adventure travel destinations are a hot thing to do right now. To stay true to the technology detox, resting is essential. And in the San Blas Islands, naps are best taken under the shade of the palms. Local families that own the islands sell anything from fruits to beach towels, which you can purchase for a picnic lunch in the shade. The temperature averages at 90 degrees year round, so sunblock and shade will be essential to a relaxing time in the islands.

Tourists from around the world come to San Blas exclusively for this important ride, La Tovara and Camalota Lagoon, where the crocodile sanctuary is located within the estuary area of the municipality of San Blas. Its ecological environment remains untouched, allowing direct contact with nature and to feel the thrill of entering a special habitat of flora and fauna.

Island Banedub is marked with a skull of a cow head near the beach, but don’t let this sight scare you away! Island Banedub has some cabins and a small bar with a campfire. The beach lies to the south and is out of the current so you can bathe in calm waters. At night you will see illuminating jellyfish and squid swimming around and this sight is truly magical! The beaches on Chichimei are probably the most deserted in San Blas and the most easy to reach for travelers without a boat. Chichimei is also a well know backpackers hangout that lacks electricity or flowing water. But this relatively big island, walking around takes up to 15 min, has long white sand beaches with crystal clear water all around. They have a volleyball field with volleyball that you can use all day for free. You can stay here in cabin full of hammocks, back to basic with the facilities. Chichimei is a must go for visitors of San Blas. At Tao Travel 365 we believe in eco-friendly travel preserving the beauties of nature and forming meaningful human relationships with the locals, while adhering to our Tao philosophies that focus on being in balance with yourself and with nature. Every adventure we offer to our customers has been handpicked and personally experienced by Michael and Paola, who value high quality experiences, great prices and excellent customer service. Few locations include The Contaduria Fort, Historical place where battles were fought to protect the harbor. Find traces of guns and the Temple of the Virgin of the Rosary, and enjoy a privileged view.

Visiting San Blas is mainly about enjoying the beauty of the nature and spending your time relaxing on these incredible islands, think of it as a way to get away from it all. I find that it’s the small things that you can do on these multi-day, get aways that make them unique. Here are a few highlights of the speedboat trip I did with San Blas Adventures from Colombia to San Blas.

The San Blas trip is possible all year round. But you need to know one important thing: It’s windy season from December to March. This means there will be high waves, not necessarily around San Blas since it’s sheltered by a reef, but the journey over open seas can get rough (read more about the routes below). If you get seasick easily the sailing trip might not be for you. If you are adventurous and like the idea of sailing, then yes it’s for you!

The archipelago has 365 islands picturesque and palm tree covered, uninhabited and set in indescribably beautiful aqua waters. When famous author John Le Carre of The Tailor of Panama stayed in San Blas his comment upon taking in an island view was, “This is not paradise, this is heaven.” This is the place to go if you truly want to “get away from it all” to be seeped in and surrounded by nature. Owned by the Guna indians, they’ve kept everything natural and authentic. What a pleasure to spend a few days where there’s no concrete, glass or steel. The second major attraction is the Guna people- a beautiful ancient people, largely unspoiled by modern life. More details on https://www.taotravel365.com/san-blas-day-tour.

Bangkok is an awesome place to visit. We will talk about Bangkok attractions and especially the Amphawa floating market. The infamous CIA operative Jim Thompson revived the Thai silk industry after World War II and had this house assembled from six traditional Thai-style houses. As Thompson was building his silk company, he also became a major collector of Southeast Asian art. Jim Thompson’s House sits on a klong across from Bangkrua, where his weavers were then located. Tourists must take the guided tour through the buildings, which are given in plenty of foreign languages. Located within the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew is the most important Buddhist temple in Thailand. As such, it is a very popular tourist attraction.

Sheer luck (or lack thereof) makes this attraction special. During the 1950s, the East Asiatic Company purchased the land around the temple. A condition of the sale was the removal of a plaster statue of Buddha, but the statue proved too heavy for the crane being used. The cable parted and the figure was dropped, being left overnight where it fell. It happened to be in the rainy season, and when next morning some monks walked past, they noticed a glint of gold shining through the plaster. The coating was removed, revealing a 3.5 m Buddha cast from 5.5 tons of solid gold. All attempts to trace the origin of this priceless statue have so far failed, but it is assumed to date from the Sukhothai period, when marauding invaders threatened the country and its treasures, and it became common practice to conceal valuable Buddha figures beneath a coating of plaster. No one knows how it came to Bangkok, but here it stands available for the admiration of visitors from all over the world.

Bangkok is an extraordinary place to visit. We will talk about Bangkok attractions and especially the Amphawa floating market tour. One of just ten first grade royal temples in Bangkok, Wat Suhat needs to be seen to be believed such is the sheer size and scale of it. Its ornate ordination hall is the largest in the country. Everything about the temple is oversized. Twenty-eight Chinese pagodas line its lower base, with their intricate carvings and decorations perfectly showing off the incredible Thai craftsmanship. Inside is just as beautiful, with wonderful murals depicting the life of the Buddha. The eight-meter high bronze Buddha image Phra Sri Sakayamuni is both an important historical and religious artifact.

Located immediately south of the Grand Palace precinct, Wat Pho makes an excellent addition to your tour, provided your feet are up for more walking. Also known as or Wat Chetuphon), the temple was built by King Rama I and is the oldest and in Bangkok. It has long been considered a place of healing, and was famous centuries ago for its pharmacy and as Thailand’s first “university,” both established by King Rama III. You can get a Thai or foot massage at the traditional medical school on the premises, but the prices are significantly higher than what you will find at massage parlors elsewhere in the city. Today Wat Pho is best known for the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, where you’ll find a statue so big (45 m long and 15 m high), it cannot be viewed in its entirety only appreciated in sections. The soles of the feet, inlaid with a myriad of precious stones, are particularly interesting with the 108 signs of true faith. Also look for the long earlobes signifying noble birth, and the lotus-bud configuration of the hand to symbolize purity and beauty.

Budapest is an incredible city. Ancient history, an imperial background, Europe’s biggest river and a stunning architecture. Budapest offers a lot of travel attractions and the most famous is the Budapest sightseeing cruise. But there are a lot of attractions in Budapest, we will talk about some of them and finishing with some details about the Danube river cruise.

Matthias Church, also known as The Church of Our Lady, is a prominent landmark on Castle Hill. It was completed in 1269, and the magnificent south doorway, with its relief depicting the Death of Mary, was added in the 1300s. In the Turkish occupation (1541-1699), it was used as a mosque and later renovated in the Baroque style. It has been the scene of several historic events, including the coronation of King Charles I of Hungary in 1309 and the coronation of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria and his consort Elisabeth ((Sissy) as rulers of Hungary. It was for this event that Franz Liszt composed his coronation mass. There are free organ concerts here on Sunday evenings.

Thanks to its abundance of thermal baths, Budapest has earned the nickname ‘City of Spas’. There are many great baths in the Hungarian capital, but Szechenyi gets our vote for its stunning architecture and open-air bathing: visitors can relax in two outdoor thermal pools, surrounded by neo-Baroque and neo-Renaissance architecture. Located on the historic Andrassy Avenue, the Hungarian State Opera House is widely viewed as one of the world’s most beautiful. The building has played host to world-class operatic performances as well as ballets, concerts and more; for anyone not wanting to catch a show, guided tours of the building take place on a daily basis, with the option to add on a ‘mini-concert’. From July 2017 – May 24, 2018 the Hungarian State Opera House will undergo renovations in its auditorium, meaning there will be no performances during this time. However, the building will remain open for tours, and the Opera Shop and Cafe will also stay in business.

What can a Budapest river cruise on the Danube offer to guests who would like to admire Budapest, this historical, wonderful capital city from the river? A cruise provides not only the experience of sailing but also an eternal memory and a special feeling. Moreover, you will receive extra energy from the water. The magnificent view of Budapest pleases your eyes, and it can be a really hard task to choose from the several sights which can be seen from our catamaran. For example, you can adore the building of the Hungarian Parliament, the beautiful cupola of the Castle of Buda, the Matthias Church, or all of the bridges. During our dinner and sightseeing cruises, we pass under some of them. Read extra info on Budapest sightseeing cruise.

The tour offers a considerable amount of attractions on both banks of River Danube. Right at the pontoon of the Elizabeth Bridge, the Gellert Hill displays a great panorama with the Citadel and its Statue of Liberty. Located atop the hills of Buda, the Castle district is an important landmark in itself. Hungary’s history is embodied in buildings and monuments such as the Royal Palace of Buda, the Bazaar Gardens, and the Matthias Church with Holy Trinity Square or the Fisherman’s Bastion. The Pest side of the Danube is equally prominent, rich in wonderful architecture and design. Besides, the Danube Promenade is also home to the finest cafes and restaurants in the city.
