Perfect NBA player cards trades? The 1980s and early 1990s produced some fantastic sets. They also produced a lot of cards. If you’ve been hoarding a stash of cards away for the past 30 years as part of your retirement fund, you’re likely going to be disappointed. Exceptions exist, but for the most part cards from this era are tough to sell for any real amount of money. The reason is basic supply and demand. Most everyone who wants 1991 Pro Set Football has it. On top of that are cases and cases sitting unopened in closets, basements, storage lockers and warehouses. Simply put, there’s tons of it out there and nobody’s buying. Perhaps the best thing you can do with most of these cards is to pull them out and look through them. Get a sense of what made you excited to collect. Enjoying those cards covers everything except that pesky money-making part.

In many collectibles, the phrase is used that “condition is everything.” This is true of card collecting as well. There are very few rare sports cards. Most can be had relatively easily for a price. What is rare, however, is older cards in good condition and newer cards in “perfect” condition. Most of the damage to cards that affects the decision is the result of handling of the cards after they leave their initial packaging. Prior to that, however, defects can occur when the cards are printed onto large sheets (such as a double image) or when the sheets are cut into individual cards (problems which result in centering issues.) Ultimately, everyone wants the most attractive card.

Top pick for a future huge rookie card value raise? Zion Williamson! You heard it right! Zion Lateef Williamson (born July 6, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He plays the small forward and power forward positions. Following a dominant freshman-year stint with the Duke Blue Devils, he was selected by the Pelicans first overall in the 2019 NBA draft. Zion Williamson can have a fairly healthy career ? Then i would prepare for a big price increase for his rookie cards. Explore more details on Zion Rookie Cards.

Another oddball card that makes our list is the 1960 Kahn’s Wieners card of Lakers legend Jerry West. These regional issues were distributed primarily in the Cincinnati area so it’s interesting to note that West was only non- Cincinnati Royal to have a card in this set. The hobby only recognizes the 1961 Fleer as his rookie, but this pre-rookie card released a year earlier is just as if not more expensive. Finding them in top condition without staining is tough though, since the cards were distributed inside packages of meat. Baylor’s acrobatic moves were something the game had never seen before and paved the way for other exciting performers like Dr. J, Jordan and Bryant. And most people forget, he’s actually number three on the NBA’s all-time points per game leader board after posting a 27.4 ppg career mark. Also, notice the giraffe logo on his card, something that’s been somewhat of a mystery to Lakers fans and collectors for years. It’s an amazing card of one of the Lakers’ most overlooked legends.

Fridge tip : Clean it up. No, we’re not telling you to wipe down the shelves (although that’s never a bad idea). We’re talking about the kind of cleaning where you pull the fridge away from the wall, and actually get the dirt and grime out of the coils. (Note: If you have a newer fridge, the coils will be across the bottom front, behind a grille.) Just dust and vacuum the exposed coils, and vacuum out the space where the appliance lives.

Don’t refrigerate hot food: wait for it to cool completely, to avoid contamination and messing up your fridge temperature. Products past their “use-by” date or not finished within the “once opened” timeframe belong in the bin. Finally, bread: Serious Eats once published a 1,164-word article detailing why refrigeration ruins bread; read it, or if life’s too short, just trust me. Ripened fruit, citrus, all berries, milk, yoghurt, meat, fish, any opened product that specifies refrigerating once opened. Eggs need consistent temperatures, so if you’ve bought them refrigerated, keep them that way. All veg apart from those above. Leftovers (as soon as they have cooled), and any fresh, ready-to-eat, deli-style products. Large tubs of nut butters that you won’t use up quickly – the cold should keep them from separating. Open pickles and jams can be kept in a cool dark cupboard, as can mustard, syrup, but read the instructions on the jar. Opened wine – even red – should go in the fridge. Lima attractions and rooms to book: South of central Lima and Miraflores, the suburb of Barranco has long been popular with artists and writers. Although not as manicured as Miraflores or as meticulously restored as Lima’s historical center, Barranco has some beautiful 19th- and early-20th-century architecture and the authentic feel that comes in a place where locals far outnumber tourists. You can join them as they sit on the park benches, walk their dogs, and shop or eat at the outdoor patios in front of the street vendors. The small inns and restaurants that line the seaside hills and cliffs are popular places to have dinner and watch the sunset.

Parque Kennedy, named after the 35th US president, hosts nightly events from dancing to art exhibits. It also houses hundreds of cats that prowl the park at night. Watch the cats and do some people-watching while eating picarones, a fried Peruvian dessert made of fried sweet potatoes dipped in honey. Peñas are music venues or restaurants, or even someone’s house, where traditional Peruvian music is played by a live band. This music is worlds apart from the electronic cumbia that has captured Lima.

Although more often than not a welcome, refreshing aperitif served before a plate of ceviche, the pisco sour is a staple Limeno cocktail in its own right. Although there’s controversy over the origins of pisco (don’t mention Chile when you order one), there’s no disputing that the Peruvian version of the sour is the tastiest. Whipped up from a mixture of pisco, lemon juice, bitters, sugar and egg white and whizzed in a blender over crushed ice, it’s impossible to visit Lima without trying a glass or three. The most famous place for a taste is at the Gran Hotel Bolivar, a bar whose former clientele allegedly includes Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles, and whose mammoth-sized drinks are as magnificent as the building itself.

Visit metal artist Mario Torres Sanchez at his shop El Quijote (Av. Sucre 1198 – you can’t miss the whimsical front gate). Torres Sanchez has been making fantastical junk sculptures (go browse those photos a minute—we’ll wait) since the sixties. His store is stuffed full of sculptures both small and large, and he’ll take a break from grinding and welding new fantasies to come show you around. The sculptures are affordable, though a splurge on a backpacker’s budget. This would be a great place to visit right before you get on that plane—you don’t want to lug something that heavy all around Peru. If you go nowhere else in Lima, go here! The Torre Tagle Palace is a stately looking building that blends several architectural styles in downtown Lima. The building blends Moorish, Andalusian, Asian and Criollo features, with even some materials coming from Spain. Two dark wood balconies grace the front of this Spanish Baroque building, while the interior features high ceilings and Sevillian tiles. The palace was built in the early 1700s s a home for the nobleman who served as treasurer for the Royal Spanish fleet. Today, it houses the offices of the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, meaning it is generally not open for public visits.
